Personal Opinions

Big Big Moon

I have to strongly recommend against watching the original Hellsing anime, or at least the last few episodes. For some reason, the anime series branches off from the vastly superior manga near the end and substitutes a lame "chaos" vampire for a group of Nazi vampire zombies with werewolves. Bummer. Those interested in the Hellsing story should investigate the manga and wait for the OVA series to finish up, which looks very promising so far in terms of delivering an accurate, satisfying translation of the manga.

Totalizator

I saw the anime long before i had any idea what the manga is really about and i enjoyed it greatly. While the storyline is nowhere as good as in the manga (and OVA), it's still entertaining, and the music, along with the original art style still make the Hellsing TV series a great watch. I can recomend Hellsing to any horror fan that has not seen the manga yet.

TannhauserGate

Yes, the manga is better, but it doesn't have as much style as the series. The animation is great, the music is incredible. I own a total of two anime soundtracks, and this is one of them. If you haven't read the manga, the anime contains really good elements of horror that's gory but usually not too gory. The show includes everything, down to a touch of fanservice with the "police girl" character. The ending of the show does go to an odd place and drag quite a bit, bit it's still an enjoyable ride. If you're looking for something a little scary, a little bloody, with a lot of undead stylin', check this one out.

Archduke

Violent, stylish, and fun. I can't say that this is the deepest anime out there, but it's a good show, and you'll probably agree. The police girl's a little annoying, but everyone else is pretty cool. You should try to avoid the dub especially with this one because they give a bunch of characters horrible British accents. Not super scary, but a bit dark.
